Commented Issue: Problem when using as windows service using C# [15855]

the execution stay "forever" blocked on the line "webcam.Start(0);"

The steps I made
Create 2 threads in thread 1 create a window Form with PictureBox inside. In the other initialize the webcam class and pass the PictureBox as argument , I disabled the cross thread safe check.

I can't be sure this is your problem, but I have had issues with starting object in a secondary thread. I can create it on the main thread, give it to the secondary thread to use and continue on in my main thread doing other things.

Hi,

I worked on a project where I used the easywebcam code. It works great on a USB webcam and also on a laptop with an integrated camera with Windows 7. I installed the application on an Acer tablet (Windows 7) with dual camera (front\rear) and although it prompts me to select the camera, when I select it, i get the error "An error occurred while capturing the video image. The video capture will now be terminated. Object Reference not set to an instance ob an object".

I tested the camera with Windows Live Movie Maker and the camera starts fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi friends!

I'm working with WebCam Library to capture an image. My UI also contains a textBox which allows user to name the image file in order to save the file.

I noticed cursor inside textbox is not responding accurately, since not all keydowns are registered while WebCam is started. I wouldn't like to stop the camera in order to allow user to keep watching what webcam registers while user is typing the image name.

I checked that if webCam stops, cursor in textbox is behaving as expected. Any suggestion will be welcome, thank you in advance!

This seems to be using the clipboard for every frame, meaning if the user copies and pastes anything their data is lost. I can't see where this is in the source code, so for now I will have to look for an alternative. If anyone has any advice on alternative methods please let me know.

I got the same problem on one of the machine which has USB2.0 UVC 2M Webcam driver. Works fine on another machine uses Microsoft LifeCam VX-500 driver.

This is NOT open source..it doesnt work well at all (have to reboot PC after one webcam seesion) and really can't configure it's use programmatically. A demo at best..there are other very good - and open source - alternative libraries available. Poor

I'm having the same problem. The webcam works with msn and skype but not with this library? Any Ideas what is causing this problem?
